Shipping Cost Calculation Before Login

You spoke, we listened and we acted on it. One of the most common requested for feature based on feedback that we received is the ability to view the shipping charges even before a customer registers as a member.

We understand that shipping charges can be a concern when purchasing from an online store and we are confident that our customers will be pleasantly surprised at how little we charge for shipping even to the furthest destinations (thanks to our special corporate rates with the various shipping companies). Quoting these charges upfront will reassure customers and encourage them to proceed with the purchase. The only problem was that it was difficult to give a detailed quotation of the shipping charges before the customer signs up as shipping, though we try to make it appear easy, is actually a complicated process that factors in the shipping destination, package weight and package size.

We have since overcome the technological challenge of presenting this shipping information and have implemented the quotation as part of our shopping cart in the right column of the store pages. This shopping cart box will appear once you've added at least one item to your "Cart". A "Shipping" quote will now be displayed in the cart along with a slightly cleaned up interface that displays the "Sub-Total" and the "Total". Clicking on the "Shipping" text will drop down a list of shipping options available, with the option to change the shipping destination to obtain a new quotation. Do note however that this shipping quotation is just for informational purposes as the actual selection of shipping method is done at the checkout shipping page.
